Community members are invited to participate in upcoming public open houses for the COS Creek Plan Feasibility Study, a collaborative effort between the City of Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Waterways, and Colorado Springs Utilities. The study is exploring long-term strategies to restore the natural functions of Monument and Fountain creeks while improving flood resilience, water quality, ecosystem health, and access to parks and trails throughout the community.
The COS Creek Plan is also one of the priority projects identified in the Outdoor Pikes Peak Initiative (OPPI) Vision Plan, supporting the region's shared goals of enhancing outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, and community resilience. As the project moves through the feasibility study phase, public input will help shape future recommendations and guide potential improvements along the creek corridors.
Open houses will be held on June 24 at the UCCS Downtown Campus and July 15 at the Colorado Springs Police Department Gold Hills Community Room, both from 5–6:30 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual open house is available through July 15, offering the same project information and opportunities for public feedback. Community input gathered during this process will help inform future partnerships, funding opportunities, and next steps toward implementation. |
