The 2026 Pikes Peak Outdoors Hoedown is almost here! Join us for an evening of community, celebration, and outdoor culture as we gather to honor the people, partners, and organizations helping shape the future of outdoor recreation in the Pikes Peak region.

 

This year’s Hoedown celebrates the region’s 150/250 commemorations and the heritage of Old Colorado City, bringing together live music, local flavor, great company, and our annual outdoor leadership awards.

Get Outdoors Day

Mark your calendars for Get Outdoors Day on June 6, 2026, at Memorial Park at Prospect Lake in Colorado Springs! 

 

This free, family-friendly event celebrates outdoor recreation in the Pikes Peak region and invites the community to discover new ways to get outside.

 

Attendees can enjoy hands-on activities, outdoor recreation demonstrations, educational booths, and opportunities to connect with local organizations that make getting outside easier and more accessible for everyone.

We’re excited to share the 2025 Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance Annual Report! This past year was filled with growth, collaboration, and impact across the outdoor recreation and conservation communities in the Pikes Peak region.

The Regional Partnership Initiative Implementation Grant (called Peak Exceptionalism) was announced in January of this year. We are happy to report that last week we secured our signed contract from the State and are currently working on sub contracts to commence the work. We will provide regular, high level, updates here in this Newsletter as the projects progress.

GARDEN OF THE GODS ART FESTIVAL

The 3rd Annual Garden of the Gods Art Festival returns May 16–17, 2026 at the stunning Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site in Colorado Springs! Set against the backdrop of Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, this two-day celebration of arts, food, and community features over 150 juried fine artists and craftspeople from across the country showcasing pottery, jewelry, textiles, paintings, sculpture, glass art, and more.

 

Ticket proceeds support Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Tickets are valid for either day, and members of Rock Ledge Ranch receive free entry.

The 2026 Paddling Film Festival World Tour comes to Colorado Springs on Saturday, May 30 from 6–10 p.m. at the Lawn at Medicine Wheel! Hosted by UpaDowna and Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates, this outdoor screening celebrates the spirit of paddling through an inspiring collection of films showcasing rivers, lakes, oceans, and wild places around the world.

 

All ages are welcome, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for this open-air event.

 

Proceeds benefit UpaDowna and Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates, supporting outdoor access, adventure programming, and sustainable trail stewardship in our region. A huge thank you to event sponsor Colorado Whitewater! Join us for a night that celebrates community, conservation, and the paddling lifestyle.

 

BRISTOL BEERS AND GEARS EXPO

BEERS AND GEARS

Join us at Bristol’s Beers & Gear on May 30 from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at Ivywild School in Colorado Springs! This outdoor expo and gear market brings together outdoor vendors, local clubs and nonprofits, environmental education, live music, networking opportunities, and of course, beer.

 

From biking and climbing to camping, fishing, running, paddling, and winter sports, there’s something for every outdoor enthusiast. Pikes Peak Outdoors will be there — stop by and say hello while enjoying an afternoon celebrating the outdoor community!
